Students of classes 9 and 10 were a part of two exciting CCA in the month of March – Inter house debate and declamation. While the students debating skills called out for a great applause in the first one, the later was a sole display of their amazing acting and delivery skills.

World Water Day is celebrated on March 22nd every year to highlight the importance of fresh water. This tradition has continued since 1993. In our world more than 2.2 billion people live without access to safe water.
The theme of World Water Day this year is “GROUNDWATER , MAKING THE INVISIBLE VISIBLE ''. The focus of this year is groundwater which is a shrinking resource overused by many countries.
This year the day highlighted the global water crisis and aims to support achieving Sustainable Water and Sanitation for all by 2030. While groundwater is pumped for domestic and industrial use, it is also critical to the healthy functioning of ecosystems. This world water day is to educate people about their responsibility in water conservation initiatives, raising awareness around the need to protect and conserve the country’s water resources.
One can protect and conserve groundwater by using native plants in their landscape. They look great and don’t need much water or fertilizer, reduce chemical use and make sure to dispose of them properly by not dumping on the ground! Get involved in water education! Learn more about groundwater and share your knowledge with others.

A safe water supply is the backbone of a healthy economy yet it is woefully under prioritised, globally. Less than 50% of the population in India has access to safely managed drinking water.
Everyone should have access to safe drinking water. It is possible to address the issues that prevent certain people from accessing safe / potable drinking water. People face many challenges when they live in overcrowded slums in urban areas and in refugee camps. There are others who live in the rural areas of the developing countries which are greatly poverty-affected. Unfortunately, they have no political power to ensure that their right to safe potable drinking water is enforced.
There are two main ways to address the problem:
The first is to dig wells in the rural and deserted areas to assist the people to have access to water. The other alternative is to treat water and use it in the home. The increasing population in the world requires water saving measures to be applied. There are technologies available to ensure high water quality. The harmful micro-organisms and chemical contaminants are removed. People can also be educated on efficient and safe distribution techniques to ensure the water does not become dirty.
Four reasons why people don’t have access to clean water:
1) Lack of infrastructure and poor management of services.
2) Poverty and inequality
3) Climate change
4) Population increase
How is water conserved in Space Stations ?
In space stations, astronauts wash their hands with less than one-tenth the water that people typically use on Earth.
Even with intense conservation and recycling efforts, the Space Stations gradually lose water because of inefficiencies in the life support system. Water is lost by the Space Station in several ways: the water recycling systems produce a small amount of unusable salt water.
Lost water is replaced by carrying it over from the Shuttle. The Shuttle produces water as its fuel cells combine hydrogen and oxygen to create electricity. Progress rockets canalso be outfitted to carry large containers of water.
Water issues are frightening and complex. The Government and the market deal with these in their own framework. But this is only a glimpse of the society’s imagination, and the people’s response to emerging water challenges.

“You will never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine.”
Yes, this quote conveys a lot about the most fundamental reason behind excellence, especially in a student's life - that is following a balanced routine. Although we come across this term quite often, its importance in our life is neglected.
To begin with, a balanced routine is a self-made schedule wherein we plan our day in such a way that we contribute ample time to everything included in it by giving equal importance which thereby results in the smooth run of the day without getting exhausted. It makes you self dependent, confident and organized in your own work and assists you to have a balanced life in every aspect thus leading to accomplishment of targets.
The following tips are regarding how to go on about it.
1. “The early bird catches the worm” - Taking this as an inspiration, one must ensure to rise and shine in the early hours of the day before sunrise. Our day must start with a beautiful and cheerful smile on our face full of energy. If we realize ,there’s so much time to utilize productively in the mornings full of silence when concentration levels of the human brain is maximum.
2. Prayers - In order to start a fresh chapter of our life on a positive note, prayer is the foremost constituent that guides you throughout the day and makes it wholesome. Praying to the almighty is not just about expecting him to grant our wishes or to shower blessings upon us but actually a language of our inner voice to talk to and connect with the supreme power indeed that stays within us. It is really important to know our religious prayers with its meaning depicting life lessons.
3. Coming to the physical state of our body, regular workouts or light exercising and stretching such as yoga highly benefits us by decreasing mental stress and improves concentration levels. We do not fail to be energetic throughout the day and our mind is always alert.
4. Balanced diet - Physical exercises alone cannot keep up to their job. Intake of nutritious food is a must to lead a healthy life. It provides us with all the essentials required for a balanced diet. Consuming fresh fruits and vegetables keeps our mind fresh as well.
You could treat yourself with a cheat day once a week for a change!
5. Here comes the crucial part of our routine that is self study. It can happen only when you are alone and calm. It is the time that must be spent for your own understanding of concepts. It is up to you how interesting or boring you could make a subject. If you would just relate your topic with real life experiences and have code words for it or draw funny sketches and make up your own story, learning is so much more fun than it already is.
7. Lastly, do not skip to prepare yourself for the following day and keep your work up to date.
8. End your day with a prayer promising yourself to improve upon your mistakes and wake up to another challenging day after having a sound sleep of 7 to 8hours.
All of this together would make up a perfect routine which balances academics with sports, stress with peace and keeps you healthy and tension free. Above all, time management and its significance is learnt.
