PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT OF PRE PRIMARY KIDS

Physical development is one of the important developments of the child. During early stages the child learns to crawl, stand, walk and hold the things.

In the formative years a child learns to run, jump, skip and climb. Each child’s physical development differs from the other depending on the movement and the activity. Physical exercises are necessary for endurance of muscles and stamina. Physical development not only refers to growth of the child in terms of height and weight but also development of motor skills.

Motor skills include fine motor skills and gross motor skills.

FINE MOTOR DEVELOPMENT: Development of small muscles which includes the activity involving the hands, wrists, fingers, feet and toes.

GROSS MOTOR DEVELOPMENT: Development of large muscles which includes the activities involving the coordination of arms, legs and other large body parts.

Physical development also helps in developing eye-hand coordination as they use vision to control the movements and actions of small muscles.

Our preschool curriculum includes a carefully structured schedule that mixes learning and play, all carefully orchestrated to inspire children to grow, learn, explore and expand their horizons and enjoy. Curriculum of preschool at AKSHAR is filled every day with learning and fun through a variety of independent and small group activities.

Different activities for physical development include Indoor play and Outdoor play.

Indoor play includes clay moulding, building blocks, scribbling, puzzles etc. which involves the development of small muscles.

Outdoor play includes climbing the jungle gym, climbing the net, sliding, playing on the see-saw, running, walking on a curved line, jumping, jogging, skipping, balancing,… etc.

During online classes we do warm up exercises so that the child develops endurance of muscles and stamina. Warm up exercises include breathing exercises, eye and neck exercises.

CLIMBING ON THE NET: It helps in large motor development and eye –hand coordination. Children also learn to share and care for others. They learn to wait for their turn.

CLIMBING ON THE SLIDE & LADDER: This activity helps in developing their large muscles. They learn to coordinate their movements smoothly and learn to balance effectively.

Children become confident, learn to share and care for others.

RUNNING: Running can improve a kid's physical, mental and personal well-being. It builds confidence in the children. It also provides many valuable life learning tools. Additionally it helps in developing large motor muscles.
