Lala Lajpat Rai was born on 28th January 1865 in Lahore,which is now part of Pakistan.
He was well known as a politician,active writer and a fearless freedom fighter.
During his college life he was much impressed by Swami Dayanand Saraswati and joined Arya Samaj.
Getting inspired by Swami Dayanand Saraswati and his parents' contribution towards freedom,he became dedicated and took pledge to serve his country.
He went to New York and established the Indian Home Rule League of India.
He led the non-cooperation movement in Punjab.
He was known as the Lion Of Punjab.
He was one out of 3 members of the trio called Lal-Bal-Pal which included Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Bipin Chandra Pal as the other two.
He started publishing a monthly newspaper called 'Young India' to awake and aware of the feeling and the sentiments of the Indian people towards the British rule
He had raised his voice for the Simon commission and started a protest against it.
There Is a popular lines said by Lala Lajpat Rai "मेरे शरीर पर पड़ी एक-एक लाठी ब्रिटिश सरकार के ताबूत में एक-एक कील का काम करेगी।"
