The 73rd Republic Day, the first ceremonious event of the year, was celebrated with a lot of exuberance across the country. The entire nation was decked up with the Tricolour. It was a proud moment for Sherwoodians, when M. Vinay Rao, Ex- Sherwoodian (ISC 2018-2019 Batch) not only got the opportunity to be the only one to represent Telangana at the Republic Day parade at New Delhi this year but also secured the Second position in Best Cadet Competition at the Republic Day Camp.

Republic Day reminds us of the sacred values enshrined in the Constitution of our country, the largest written Constitution that came into effect in 1950.We live in a country where the super power is held by its citizens. We are entitled to certain rights as well as obliged to perform certain duties.

This is all the more important during the uncertainties in the form of Offline and Online schooling. Our main duty is to support our precious children for their emotional and physical well-being. Thankfully the physical school is reopening in phases and we, parents and teachers will need to play a significant role in the growth and development of our children during this transition period. Apart from imparting academic excellence, we first need to take care of emotional, social and physical development. Our prime responsibility is to make our children emotionally stable and physically fit to face the challenges ahead. That’s the need of the hour. Our school believes: To follow the Constitution (Rules and Regulations) of the country in future as sensible and responsible adults, our children have to be trained to imbibe values through various activities included in the school curriculum.

Let us prepare our children to face the world with confidence and to emerge as emotionally and physically wholesome individuals. Afterall, “Our children deserve a better world and that is our moral responsibility.”
